In June 1975, the short-lived 
The Quarterly Skateboarder (1964-1965) would be reborn as 
SkateBoarder with legendary photographer 
Warren Bolster (1944–2006) at the helm as its editor. Bolster enlisted the services of 
Jim Evans, an artist/designer friend who illustrated the relaunched magazine and immediately began building a crew of staff photographers that included 
Craig Stecyk, Jim Goodrich and 
James Cassimus. Known as the bible during this tenure, the magazine began as a quarterly, quickly shifted to a bi-monthly, and then finally a monthly by late 1977. The
